"Krakauer Bros. Study: 1" is a mixed media piece that features piano parts from an upright piano built by Krakauer Bros. of New York (founded in 1869 and known for high grade quality and their case designs). I was offered this piano by an incredibly nice couple who live in the town where I grew up in Maine. They, in turn, got the piano from another family with whom I am acquainted from my childhood. It's a small, small world.
