Louise Philbrick

- Studio

When I was originally offered this piano, I couldn't in good conscience accept it, as the piano was still in decent shape. So I connected it with a local band that practiced and recorded with it for years. It made its way back to me and into my studio in 2010, once it was officially doomed. And finally, in the spring of 2011, I dismantled it in the company of my sister-in-law, Kate Philbrick, a photographer, who documented the process. She captured much of the glamour associated with my work day. I love this portrait.
